Summary
The reproductive landscape has been turned upside down after the Supreme Court ruled that abortion should and could be decided by the states. This upended (overnight) the understanding of what was now permissible and what wasn't. There has been a ripple down effect into all aspects of reproduction, from maternity care to IVF. There is an unique population that tends to not be considered: gestational carriers. This session will speak to the care we need to give GC's as the landscape continues to change.
Learning Objectives
- Describe what currently exists as Gestational Carrier support
- Identify what needs to be discussed, given Dobbs and its impact, in the initial meeting with Gestational Carrier's
- Define potential dangers that might exist for Gestational Carrier's in non-protective states
