Summary

More clinics, agencies, and gamete banks are moving towards open gamete donation for their donors. Donor-conceived people have been advocating for more transparency in donor gametes as a way to limit potential harms such as huge genetic sibling pods, to increase access to their family medical history and agency in deciding what if any contact they want with genetic family members. Some still worry that open gamete donation will further limit the donors available, and open intended parents to discrimination. •
