Summary:

The use of egg donation in ART has gradually increased over the years with a dramatic increase in the use of Frozen oocytes from egg donation compared to Fresh. This is due to the convenience to both the egg donors and recipients while maintaining acceptable pregnancy rates.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the use of egg donation in the United States over the last 10 years
  2. Review the use of frozen eggs compared to fresh eggs and egg donation
  3. Review the safety and pregnancy rates associated with frozen egg use and eggdonation
  4. Discuss the future of egg donation in relationship to fresh versus frozen eggs.
