Summary

The increasing complexity of reproductive medicine demands a high-functioning, collaborative, and patient-centered approach to care. This interactive workshop is designed to empower nurses with the knowledge and tools to cultivate STAR teams—those that demonstrate Support, Trust, Accountability, and Respect—within reproductive health clinics. Nurses play a pivotal role in coordinating care, educating patients, and fostering continuity across disciplines. Participants will explore the dynamics of effective team collaboration through case-based discussions, small group activities, and role-playing exercises. Emphasis will be placed on the unique interdisciplinary nature of reproductive medicine, highlighting how nurses can lead from the center of care to drive excellence across the team.

Learning Objectives

  1. Define the key components of a STAR team—Support, Trust, Accountability, and Respect—and explain how they apply to interdisciplinary collaboration in reproductive medicine.
  2. Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution techniques
  3. Identify common barriers to team effectiveness and propose evidence-based strategies to address them.
  4. Apply leadership principles relevant to nursing practice and advocate for improved collaboration across disciplines.
