Kara Goldman, MD

Kara Goldman, MD is an Associate Professor of OB/GYN and Associate Program Director for the REI fellowship at Northwestern University. She directs the Northwestern University Fertility Preservation program, where she oversees a robust clinical and research program focusing on the prevention and treatment of iatrogenic and physiologic ovarian aging with a particular interest in the role of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway in ovarian aging. Dr. Goldman’s research has been twice awarded the Scientific Program Prize Paper by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She is the immediate past-Chair of the ASRM Fertility Preservation special interest group, sits on the executive board of the Oncofertility Consortium, and directs an Oncofertility graduate course at Northwestern University. She serves on the editorial board of Fertility and Sterility and the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, serves as ad-hoc reviewer for Nature Aging, NEJM, and Human Reproduction, and has spoken nationally and internationally including at the National Academy of Medicine and the FDA. She earned her BA Cum Laude from Duke University, MD from Loyola University, completed OB/GYN residency at Northwestern University, and completed REI fellowship at New York University.
